Democrats keep reaching for the same tired playbook.
They called immigration enforcement racist during DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin’s congressional testimony, and now they’re getting a very direct answer.
And Tom Homan just shut down the racial profiling smear in four words that Democrats will not forget anytime soon.
What Homan Actually Said on Fox News
White House border czar Tom Homan appeared on Lara Trump’s Fox News show, My View, recently and did not hold back.
Lara Trump asked Homan directly how the constant Democrat attacks on ICE agents affect the people doing the actual work on the ground. “The people who day in and day out are putting their lives on the line, because it’s not just that they are attacking Secretary Mullin — they are attacking the entire agency,” she said.
Homan’s answer was short and to the point: “I’m an equal opportunity deporter. I don’t care what color they are or what country they’re from.”
He then backed that up with a number that Democrats conveniently never mention. ICE agents have removed illegal aliens from 161 countries, including a wide range of Asian and European nations. That’s not a border agency targeting one community. That’s a federal law enforcement agency enforcing the law against people who broke it, regardless of where they came from.
Homan also made clear that the Democrat tactic of calling enforcement agents “racist” during congressional hearings is not just dishonest. He argued that when politicians use that kind of reckless language, it directly puts the lives of ICE officers and their families in danger.
Death threats against ICE agents and their families surged by a staggering 8,000 percent, according to a Department of Homeland Security figure Homan cited. That’s not a talking point. That’s men and women in federal law enforcement going home at night wondering whether someone inflamed by a politician’s Nazi comparison is going to show up at their door.
The Politicians Who Started This Fire
Democrats did not stumble into this rhetoric accidentally. Illinois Governor JB Pritzker compared Trump’s ICE raids to Nazi Germany last fall. Representative Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts compared ICE agents to the KKK.
These are elected officials with megaphones, and they chose to use them to paint federal law enforcement as a white supremacist operation. Homan argued those characterizations empower “the small percentage of people on the left who are already nuts” to translate heated political language into actual threats of violence against agents and their families.
And during the congressional testimony that prompted this latest exchange, Democrat lawmakers did the same thing to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin — using the hearing as a platform to question the character of every ICE agent in the country rather than engage in any serious discussion about immigration law.
That is the “stale tactic” Lara Trump asked Homan about. And it is stale. Democrats have been running this play for years. Call enforcement racist, generate outrage, use the outrage to block enforcement, and then act baffled when illegal aliens who were never removed go on to commit crimes against American citizens.
What This Pattern Actually Tells You
Homan’s record speaks for itself. He ran ICE’s deportation operations under President Obama, when the agency removed more than 432,000 people in a single fiscal year. Obama gave him the Presidential Rank Award, the highest civil service recognition available. The man spent decades enforcing immigration law under administrations of both parties.
But Democrats now call that same work racist. Not because the facts changed. Because the politics changed.
The racial profiling accusation is not a legal argument. It’s a pressure campaign designed to make enforcement agents hesitate, make the public distrust ICE, and make it politically toxic to remove illegal aliens from the country. It’s also, as Homan pointed out, flatly inaccurate. ICE operates under Fourth Amendment training requirements, works from case files and specific targets, and has removed people from 161 nations.
That’s not a racist operation. That’s the law being applied without regard to nationality.
President Trump received a clear mandate in 2024 to restore order at the border and carry out the largest deportation operation in American history. The voters who sent him back to Washington understood exactly what they were voting for. Recent polling consistently shows majority support among Americans for large-scale removal of illegal aliens.
Democrats who can’t win that argument on the merits fall back on calling the agents Nazis and the policy racist. And then they act shocked when Homan comes back on national television and dismantles the whole thing in a single sentence.
The “equal opportunity deporter” line is not just a good sound bite. It’s a direct rebuttal to a deliberate lie. ICE removes illegal aliens from 161 countries because the law does not have a carveout based on skin color, national origin, or which community a Democrat politician is trying to protect.
The men and women in those agencies deserve better than to have their careers defined by politicians who compare them to the KKK during congressional hearings. And the American public deserves a border czar who is willing to say that plainly, on television, without apology.
Tom Homan did exactly that.
