President Trump thought he could count on the Constitution and the rule of law to stop the Democratic Party’s lawfare against his agenda.

But Trump found out some bad news.

And the Supreme Court sucker punched Trump with this heartbreaking defeat.

As West Wing Daily reports:

The Supreme Court handed down a 6-3 decision striking down the “Liberation Day” tariffs that President Trump imposed on April 2, 2025, using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

Trump declared America’s trade deficit a national emergency and imposed the tariffs to rebalance global trade.

The tariffs were the centerpiece of Trump’s economic agenda to reshore American industry after decades of politicians selling out American workers through globalist trade deals that gutted industries by shipping jobs to China and Mexico.

These tariffs were also Trump’s primary method of attacking America’s out-of-control $38 trillion national debt.

It was no surprise that three Democratic justices – Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson – ruled against Trump.

Nor was it even a big shocker that anti-Trump RINO Chief Justice John Roberts voted to strike down the tariffs.

What stung Trup was that two of his appointees – Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett – sided with the swamp and the globalists in providing the decisive votes to strike down the tariffs.

In a press conference following the ruling, Trump slammed Gorsuch and Barrett as “lap dogs” and too weak to stand up to the left’s pressure.

“Others think they’re being politically correct, which has happened before, far too often with certain members of this court… when in fact, they’re just being fools and lap dogs for the RINOs and the radical left Democrats,” Trump declared.

Trump also ripped Gorsuch and Barrett’s ruling as  “an embarrassment to their families.”

When reporters asked if he regretted nominating them to the Supreme Court, Trump didn’t want to go there, but emphasized his disgust with their betrayal.

“I don’t want to say whether I regret nominating them. I think their decision was terrible,” Trump stated.

In a subsequent post on social media, Trump noted that Democrats never have to worry about their justices ruling against them in major cases since they know these judges understand they were put on the bench to oppose every Republican initiative and uphold the left’s every political whim.

“What happened today with the two United States Supreme Court Justices that I appointed against great opposition, Neil Gorsuch and Amy Coney Barrett, whether people like it or not, never seems to happen with Democrats,” Trump posted to Truth Social. “They vote against the Republicans, and never against themselves, almost every single time, no matter how good a case we have.”

Trump did take some comfort in the fact that he didn’t nominate Roberts, who also sold out conservatives by writing the opinion that upheld Obamacare’s individual mandate, but also warned the Supreme Court wouldn’t have the final say as more tariffs were on the way.

“At least I didn’t appoint Roberts, who led the effort to allow Foreign Countries that have been ripping us off for years to continue to do so — But we won’t let it happen. The new TARIFFS, totally tested and accepted as Law, are on their way!
