Democrats have Election Day circled on their calendar.
But they may be celebrating prematurely.
And that’s because John Kennedy’s bombshell prediction scared the hell out of Democrats.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
Polls show nearly 60 percent of Americans support the SAVE Act, which requires proof of citizenship to register to vote, voter ID, and bans mass mail-in voting.
The holdup is the Senate, where Democrats are threatening to filibuster the bill.
But Republicans have several workarounds.
Louisiana Senator John Kennedy told Fox News that he predicted the SAVE Act would pass in the next several weeks and that he would support using the reconciliation process, which requires a simple majority vote.
“Thune is going to bring it to the floor, I anticipate, in the next few weeks. Will it pass? I think so! We have some free-range chickens on the Republican side, and we’re gonna have to go gather them up,” Kennedy stated.
“I would do it through reconciliation. We can short-circuit all of this. But I’m in the minority,” Kennedy added.
Kennedy admitted the Senate was dragging its feet on the SAVE Act, but he assured Trump supporters it would eventually get the job done.
“The Senate is notoriously slow. Sometimes it takes us months to get nothing done. The SAVE Act is a priority,” Kennedy added.
Kennedy said he was personally on Senate Majority Leader John Thune’s case to start the reconciliation process and pass the SAVE Act.
“I have chased Sen. Thune like he stole THANKSGIVING to try and get him to do a reconciliation,” Kennedy concluded.
Kennedy’s comments came after President Trump declared that he wouldn’t sign any other legislation Congress sent him until it passed the SAVE Act.
“THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, an 88% issue with ALL VOTERS. It must be done immediately. It supersedes everything else. MUST GO TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE. I, as President, will not sign other Bills until this is passed, AND NOT THE WATERED-DOWN VERSION – GO FOR THE GOLD: MUST SHOW VOTER I.D. & PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP: NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS EXCEPT FOR MILITARY – ILLNESS, DISABILITY, TRAVEL: NO MEN IN WOMEN’S SPORTS: NO TRANSGENDER MUTILATION FOR CHILDREN! DO NOT FAIL!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
It’s now or never for the Senate on the SAVE Act.
Senator Kennedy is optimistic for success.
