The 2026 midterm election looks like it could go either way.
Democrats have a sick plan in reserve.
And Chuck Schumer is preparing one doomsday election scenario that will stop you cold.
Polls show Democrats facing an uphill climb to win control of the Senate.
Schumer knows this could be his last shot to seize power and isn’t leaving much to chance.
In an interview with MSNBC, Schumer revealed Democrats are running tabletop war games on how to confront the Trump administration’s efforts to protect election integrity and prevent fraud.
“We have to prepare for it,” Schumer stated. “What these so-called tabletop exercises teach us is when you’re prepared in advance, you can stop a lot of bad, bad things from happening. A lot of the stealing that [President Donald Trump] will do, but if you just wait for them to do it and then try to react that day? Not good.”
Schumer told MSNBC that national and local Democrats would coordinate to obstruct efforts by Trump to deploy federal officials to polling places where they suspect Democrats are running voter fraud operations.
“What we would do is work with the local Houston Police Department, Dallas Police Department, Bexar County, San Antonio Police Department and figure out ways to stop this ahead of time.”
“If you could do a truth serum and give it to Republican senators, about 80% of them would agree he’s trying to steal the election. The trouble is, they’re too scared to say anything about it,” Schumer added. “But if we keep at it and keep at it and keep at it, every so often you get someone on our side. And the more we do that, the greater chance we have of stopping them, but of also winning elections so we can prevent these bad things from ever happening again.”
Schumer’s comments harkened back to a doomsday scenario Democrats prepared ahead of the 2020 election.
In the summer of 2020, the so-called “Transition Integrity Project,” a collection of 67 Trump haters, war-gamed four scenarios of the election: a Trump blowout, a narrow Trump win, a Biden landslide and an arrow Biden win.
Former 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign manager John Podesta played the role of Joe Biden.
Under a scenario in which Trump won the Electoral College but lost the popular vote, Podesta as Biden refused to concede the election, and Democratic states California, Washington, and Oregon put civil war on the table by threatening secession.
“In that scenario, California, Oregon, and Washington then threatened to secede from the United States if Mr. Trump took office as planned. The House named Mr. Biden president; the Senate and White House stuck with Mr. Trump. At that point in the scenario, the nation stopped looking to the media for cues, and waited to see what the military would do,” columnist Ben Smith wrote of the election war games.
Democrats are determined to destroy Trump’s Presidency by any means necessary.
And Schumer’s admission that Democrats are running war games to fight election integrity efforts leaves many Americans worried about how far the left is willing to go.
