Barron Trump never held a government job, yet the Left’s revenge talk keeps creeping closer to the President’s youngest son.
Democrat leaders swear their coming investigations will chase corruption, not payback.
And Jim Acosta laughed right along as one guest spelled out exactly what she wants for Barron.
A Bookstore Crowd Heard the Real Wish List
Jennifer Welch hosts the left-wing podcast I’ve Had It, and she recently hit the road to sell a new book with the not-so-subtle title Not Today, Fascists.
Former CNN host Jim Acosta interviewed her in front of a friendly audience at Politics and Prose, the liberal bookstore in Washington, DC.
Most of the evening sounded like standard fare for that crowd. Welch mocked Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) as “Chuckles” and told him and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) they needed to “get scrappy.”
Then Acosta brought up Jeffries’ recent meeting with Jared Kushner and griped about the money Kushner made in the Middle East.
That’s when Welch decided to say the quiet part into a microphone.
“I’m just going to say it. I want Barron, Jared. I’m going to throw Tiffany in,” she said.
Even Acosta sounded a little startled. “Oh gosh, even Tiffany,” he replied.
But Welch kept going. “I want them all investigated. Every single one of them investigated.”
She claimed she didn’t carry a “rabid, like, lock them up mentality.” Acosta tossed out, “Lock some of them up, maybe?” and the room laughed.
And then she spelled out the endgame. “I want them to have trials. And I want if they stole money or they were improper business dealings, all of their money taken away.”
Look at the order of operations there. Trials come first. The crime shows up afterward, propped up on the word “if.”
The Kid With No Office, No Contract, and No Charges
Barron Trump is 20 years old. He has never held a government title, never run a federal agency, and never sat across a negotiating table from a foreign government.
He was still in grade school when his father first took the oath of office.
Nobody has charged Barron with anything. Even the left-leaning press covering Democrat interest in him has admitted that no one has accused him of criminal wrongdoing.
But Welch didn’t pull his name out of thin air. In July 2026, Representative Yassamin Ansari (D-AZ) sent a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) demanding a probe of Barron’s past online conversations with influencer Andrew Tate, after the New York Times reported the two had talked in 2024.
Ansari wanted subpoenas aimed at the Justice Department, the State Department, and White House staff. Tate and his brother Tristan face criminal charges in the United Kingdom, charges both men deny. Nobody has alleged Barron took part in anything the Tates stand accused of.
Welch jumped on that story too. She went on Don Lemon’s show and declared, “Melania Trump is this country’s worst mother.”
And this isn’t the first time government power came sniffing around the young man. Documents the White House recently released showed Joe Biden’s FBI tracked the travel of Barron and his mother while agents planned the 2022 Mar-a-Lago raid. Barron was a teenager at the time.
Democrats Already Put the Whole Family on the Menu
It would be easy to write Welch off as a podcaster playing to a room full of fans.
But the people who would actually hold subpoena power if Democrats win the House sound an awful lot like her.
Representative Robert Garcia (D-CA), the top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, told Politico exactly who he wants in front of his panel. “Ideally, it’s the president’s sons and the president and the family,” Garcia said.
Garcia now refers to the President’s relatives as the “Trump crime family.” And he isn’t some backbencher shouting from the cheap seats. He’s next in line for the gavel.
Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who could chair the Judiciary Committee, singled out Kushner and said he “is a corporate executive that we absolutely will need to talk to.” Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) promised the Senate would use its subpoena power too.
Welch herself previewed all of this back in January 2026, in an earlier sit-down with Acosta. She predicted Democrats would “uncover every document, every phone call, everything you did.”
Now, Kushner and Don Jr run real businesses, and plenty of people on both sides ask questions about foreign money. Nobody needs a fainting couch over that.
But Barron isn’t running an investment fund. Tiffany, who stays mostly out of politics, isn’t either. Welch lumped them all together anyway and tossed in a “Dumb and dumber” crack for good measure.
Joe Biden Wrote the Rule Democrats Now Want to Forget
Democrats didn’t always treat a President’s relatives as fair game. The last Democrat President built an entire legal fortress around his own.
On January 20, 2025, just minutes before Donald Trump took the oath, Joe Biden handed preemptive pardons to his brothers James and Francis, his sister Valerie Biden Owens, and their spouses, Sara Jones Biden and John Owens. The pardons wiped away any nonviolent federal offenses going back to January 1, 2014.
That came weeks after Biden pardoned his son Hunter, despite promising for months that he wouldn’t.
Biden explained himself in a written statement. He said his family had endured “unrelenting attacks and threats, motivated solely by a desire to hurt me.” He also warned that politically driven probes “wreak havoc on the lives, safety, and financial security” of the families they target.
Comer saw the whole thing as a confession of corruption. Plenty of Americans agreed.
Here’s the part Democrats would rather skip. House investigators spent years digging through the Biden family’s business dealings before those pardons landed. But Barron’s portfolio consists of a college course load.
So by Biden’s own standard, a 20-year-old with no office, no foreign deals, and no charges sits squarely in the category of family members a vengeful political party should leave alone. Democrats nodded along when Biden said it. Their allies now cheer for the opposite at a book signing.
Welch might argue she’s just a podcaster with no gavel. That’s true, as far as it goes. Democrats also swore in 2018 they had no plans to impeach Trump, and the House impeached him twice once they took over.
But nobody in that bookstore seemed bothered by the idea of putting a President’s kids on trial first and finding the crime later. Once a last name becomes probable cause, Barron won’t be the last young person in Washington to get a subpoena for the sin of being born into the wrong family.
Joe Biden saw this kind of thing coming, at least when the target carried his own last name. On his way out the door, he wrote one line that fits Barron Trump far better than it ever fit his brother James: “Unfortunately, I have no reason to believe these attacks will end.”
