Democrats cheered every federal agent who knocked on a Trump ally’s door.

Now the knock landed at Ilhan Omar’s house, and the Squad wants sympathy.

But JD Vance just answered her with a warning she probably didn’t want to hear.

Vance Fired Back From a Texas Tarmac

Homeland Security Investigations agents showed up before sunrise at the Washington, DC, home of Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN). HSI, the main investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security, is working alongside the Justice Department on a probe into potential immigration fraud.

Prosecutors haven’t charged Omar with anything. Her office insists she has done nothing wrong.

Vice President JD Vance sat down with Fox News Digital after a campaign stop at Tyler Pounds Regional Airport in Tyler, Texas, a city roughly 100 miles east of Dallas. Vance rolled into town to stump for Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who faces Democrat state Representative James Talarico in the race for US Senate.

And the Vice President didn’t sound like a man losing sleep over Omar’s complaints.

“We don’t want to be like the Biden administration. We never want to be like that,” Vance told the outlet, pointing to an era “where they would allow the law to go after their political opponents.”

He said the White House keeps its hands off the case. Vance said “the president and I really don’t butt ourselves in the DOJ investigations,” and he added, “We’re not trying to micromanage this.”

But he left the door wide open on what comes next.

“If, of course, criminal wrongdoing is discovered or potentially fraudulent immigration is uncovered, then obviously there will be legal proceedings to follow that,” Vance said.

Omar Tried to Turn a Federal Raid Into a Campaign Ad

Omar hit X within hours.

“I’m ok,” she wrote. “Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.”

She kept going. “For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns,” Omar posted. “This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.”

And her official government account piled on, calling the operation “an outrageous abuse of power” and declaring, “No president should be able to use the power of the federal government to intimidate his political enemies.”

That’s a fine principle. Too bad Democrats couldn’t find it in August 2022.

Democrats Wrote This Playbook at Mar-a-Lago

Joe Biden’s Justice Department sent the FBI into President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home over the alleged mishandling of classified documents. Prosecutors closed that case after Trump won back the White House in 2024.

Democrats didn’t call that weaponization back then. They called it accountability. Every cable panel seemed to have somebody reciting the old line about how nobody stands above the law, said with the solemn tone usually reserved for a funeral.

Now a Democrat congresswoman finds federal agents at her own front door, and suddenly the rule book needs a rewrite.

And some critics already grumble about the timing. They point to a Justice Department custom of steering clear of political figures with an election close at hand, and Omar’s name sits on the November ballot in Minnesota’s heavily Democrat 5th Congressional District.

But this probe didn’t fall out of a clear blue sky. Vance, who serves as the administration’s fraud czar, said on The Benny Show earlier this year that he believed Omar committed immigration fraud. Local reporting describes months of accusations building up before agents ever showed up at her house.

So the notion that somebody cooked this whole thing up to fit the midterm calendar doesn’t hold much water.

Vance brushed off the “unprecedented” complaint, too. “And to the question of it being unprecedented, I mean, what I’d say is that Ilhan Omar herself is a very unprecedented person,” he said.

Ilhan Omar’s ‘Rage’ Problem Didn’t Start With This Raid

Vance saved his sharpest words for Omar herself.

“We have very rarely had a person in Congress who seems to have such disdain and such rage at the country that gave her a better life,” he said.

Omar’s family fled Somalia’s civil war in 1991. America took them in, and Minnesota voters eventually sent her to Congress.

And she has spent a good chunk of her time in Washington lecturing the country that opened its doors. Islamic terrorists under Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda murdered nearly 3,000 Americans on September 11, 2001. In a 2019 speech, Omar described that day as a moment when “some people did something.”

Plenty of folks who lived through that morning still haven’t forgotten the phrasing.

But Vance drew a careful line. “Now, that’s not a crime,” he added.

That’s the part the left keeps skipping right over. Nobody has to like Omar’s opinions, and nobody should face prosecution for them either. The First Amendment covers her the same as everybody else, and conservatives who spent years fighting censorship ought to say so plainly.

Opinions aren’t the question here. Paperwork is.

“But we’re going to see whether she did commit a crime. And if she did, we’re obviously going to follow the law,” Vance said.

What Happens If the Facts Don’t Break Omar’s Way

Immigration fraud isn’t a parking ticket. The whole legal immigration system runs on the honesty of the people filling out the forms, and the country can’t vet millions of applicants if folks can lie their way through the gate without consequences.

Federal law lets the government go after citizenship obtained through fraud. Fox News even asked a former federal prosecutor how that process works in Omar’s situation.

None of that has happened yet, and it may never happen. Investigators still have to make their case, and Omar keeps every protection any other American gets. That’s how it ought to work.

Here’s the safe bet, though. Democrats will treat any outcome as persecution. If agents come up empty, Omar will call it harassment. If they turn up something real, she’ll call it weaponization anyway, and the Squad’s fundraising emails are probably already sitting in the drafts folder.

Vance boiled his position down to one sentence that should make sense to anybody outside Washington. “I think we have to let the facts and the law drive this, right?” he said. “You have to actually enforce the law as it exists.”

That standard sounded just fine to Democrats when the target lived in Palm Beach.
