Noncitizen voting is real, documented, and happening in American elections.

Federal agents just made another arrest that the open-borders crowd does not want talked about.

And what ICE found in Decatur, Georgia about the 2020 election is going to leave a lot of people red with rage.

What ICE and HSI Found in Decatur

Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security Investigations Atlanta arrested Anthony Tyrone Higgs, a Bahamian national, in Decatur, Georgia, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller.

Higgs was admitted to the United States as a Lawful Permanent Resident in October 1976.

But being a lawful permanent resident does not make someone a US citizen, and only US citizens have the legal right to vote in federal elections.

HSI Atlanta confirmed in August 2026 that Higgs had illegally voted in the 2020 presidential election.

That is not an accusation. That is a confirmed finding by federal investigators.

And the voting violation is far from the only problem with Higgs’ record.

His criminal history includes convictions for two counts of grand larceny, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, assault on a police officer, criminal domestic violence, and resisting arrest.

That is a rap sheet that spans decades and covers nearly every category of violent and predatory crime.

DHS has placed Higgs in removal proceedings to strip him of his Lawful Permanent Resident status because of his crimes.

He remains in the custody of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations.

What DHS Secretary Mullin Said About It

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin did not mince words when the Daily Caller asked about the case.

“This criminal alien from the Bahamas has a rap sheet for multiple violent crimes, including armed robbery, domestic violence, and assault on a police officer,” Mullin wrote to the Caller.

“On top of all of that, he illegally voted in the 2020 election,” Mullin continued. “If even one non-citizen votes in our elections, it cancels out the vote of an American citizen. Thanks to the hard work of the men and women of ICE, this criminal will be removed from our country and can never interfere in our elections again.”

That is the right framing.

Every illegal vote is not an abstraction. It is a direct cancellation of a legitimate American citizen’s ballot. The math is simple and the damage is real.

The Higgs arrest did not happen in isolation. Just days earlier, ICE and HSI officers arrested Mariana Alexandra Dewey, a Peruvian national, for allegedly misrepresenting herself as a US citizen while voting in the 2024 general election in Kansas. Dewey was charged with one count of false claim of citizenship, one count of false claim of US citizenship in order to vote, one count of fraudulent election conduct, and one count of voting by an alien in a federal election.

Dewey, according to the Daily Caller, initially told an investigator she was a US citizen before later acknowledging she was actually a lawful permanent resident. She also acknowledged she had voted in the 2024 general election. DHS said she later pleaded guilty to disorderly election conduct under Kansas law.

Two arrests in two days. Two elections. Two noncitizens who each cast a ballot that did not belong to them.

The Broader Push to Protect American Elections

The Trump administration has been systematically building out its election integrity infrastructure in recent months, and the Higgs and Dewey arrests are part of that larger effort.

In June, DHS directed ICE to enforce stricter penalties for noncitizens who illegally vote in American elections, including deportation.

In July, Secretary Mullin sent letters to secretaries of state in several states regarding noncitizens who are registered to vote. That same month, the Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that grant recipients would be required to take several actions related to election security.

For months, President Donald Trump has pushed Congressional Republicans to pass the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, known as the SAVE America Act, which would require proof of American citizenship to register to vote and photo identification to vote in federal elections. The legislation has stalled and remains in limbo.

The SAVE America Act passed the US House of Representatives in February 2026 by a vote of 218 to 213. It now faces the Senate, where the filibuster effectively requires 60 votes to advance, and Republicans hold a 53-to-47 majority.

That gap is the whole ballgame. Democrats who claim noncitizen voting is a myth have every incentive to keep the SAVE America Act bottled up in the Senate, because every new arrest like the Higgs case makes their argument harder to sustain.

And the cases keep coming. DHS has also cited enforcement actions involving noncitizens from Colombia, Slovakia, Australia, Mexico, and Mauritania, along with charges against four noncitizens in New Jersey accused of illegally voting in federal elections or falsely claiming US citizenship.

These are not isolated incidents. They are a pattern.

The left and their media allies spent years insisting that noncitizen voting was a fringe concern, a conspiracy theory, a manufactured grievance. But federal prosecutors keep filing charges. ICE keeps making arrests. HSI keeps confirming findings. The documented cases keep accumulating, and every new one is another brick in the wall of evidence that the concerns millions of Americans raised about election integrity were not paranoia.

They were legitimate questions that a large portion of the American public continues to raise, and the Higgs arrest is exactly why.

A man with a violent criminal record spanning decades, who had no right to vote, cast a ballot in the 2020 presidential election in Georgia. Georgia, it is worth remembering, was a state decided by fewer than 12,000 votes in that election. The questions surrounding how that election was conducted, the last-minute changes to voting rules made under cover of COVID, and the role of private money flooding election offices did not disappear just because the media declared the matter closed.

The SAVE America Act is a commonsense measure. Requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register to vote is not a radical idea. Most serious developed nations require far more rigorous verification before allowing anyone near a ballot. Asking someone to prove they are an American citizen before casting a vote in an American election is the bare minimum standard a sovereign country should maintain.

But Democrats have fought it at every turn, which raises an obvious question about whose interests they think they are protecting.

Anthony Tyrone Higgs is now in ICE custody, facing removal. The vote he allegedly cast in 2020 cannot be undone. The American citizen whose ballot it canceled out will never get that back.

That is the cost of a broken system, and it is exactly why the Trump administration’s push for election integrity deserves support, not obstruction.
