Three children are dead. A jury deadlocked. And now a far-left internet streamer is taking shots at anyone who thinks the prosecution had a point.

The mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy case left serious charges unresolved — and the left wasted no time turning the whole thing into a cause.

And Hasan Piker just put himself squarely in the middle of it, ripping anyone who sided with the people trying to hold someone accountable for the deaths of Cora, Dawson, and Callan.

What Piker Actually Said

During a recent livestream, far-left streamer Hasan Piker told viewers he cannot understand why anyone would side with prosecutors in the case of Lindsay Clancy, who was charged with the murders of her three children.

Clancy, 36, acknowledged that she strangled five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson, and eight-month-old Callan at the family’s Duxbury home in 2023, then attempted to take her own life. Her defense argued she could not be held criminally responsible because severe postpartum psychosis left her unable to appreciate what she was doing. Prosecutors countered that Clancy planned the killings and understood they were wrong.

Piker framed the whole thing as a question of mental state rather than a question of justice for three dead children. “The question is whether or not she did it,” he said. “The question is more so whether she did it deliberately or did it as a consequence of postpartum psychosis.”

He went further. “And I think that the defense had a decent amount of evidence to show that postpartum psychosis probably played a role in this because I also can’t understand why anyone would assume that she just, to take the side of prosecutors, basically, assume that she just did this for the sake of cruelty.”

Piker also argued that Clancy had been “failed by the medical system.”

The watchdog account DSA Watch characterized the remarks as Piker “defending” a woman who “murdered her 3 children.” The account also claimed that no doctor who treated Clancy said she was going through psychosis.

What the Jury Actually Did — and Why the Mistrial Is an Outrage

Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on September 4 after the jury deadlocked over seven days of deliberations, with reports indicating an 11-1 split for acquittal by reason of insanity. A last-minute defense appeal to the state’s highest court to remove a lone holdout juror failed.

The jury consisted of nine women and three men. Eleven of those twelve jurors reportedly leaned toward clearing Clancy on the basis that she lacked criminal responsibility. One holdout blocked that outcome. The resulting mistrial left serious murder charges involving the deaths of three children completely unresolved, and the reported lean of nine female jurors toward acquittal is a moral failure that demands a retrial.

This is woke leftist feminism run amok. A jury panel dominated by women reportedly came within one vote of sending a woman home — a woman charged with the murders of three children — on the theory that postpartum psychosis removed her criminal responsibility entirely. One lone holdout stood between the charges and a de facto acquittal. That single juror prevented a catastrophic outcome, and the system repaid him by producing a mistrial that leaves Cora, Dawson, and Callan without any verdict at all.

Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said after the mistrial that prosecutors had not yet made a decision regarding a possible retrial. “I’ll be making that decision shortly,” Cruz said. A retrial is exactly what justice demands.

President Donald Trump commented on the case following the mistrial, calling it “a horrible tragedy” and indicating he expected another trial could take place.

Rep. Brandon Gill Cuts Through the Noise

Not everyone on the national stage was willing to play along with the narrative that Clancy deserves sympathy rather than accountability.

Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) appeared on Fox News Channel’s The Will Cain Show and rejected the defense’s effort to portray Clancy as “brave” or sympathetic. Gill did not mince words. “She is anything but brave,” he said. “I mean, whenever I look at this, I have an enormous amount of sympathy for those three little innocent kids who were slaughtered. I don’t have an ounce of sympathy for Lindsay Clancy.”

He went after the broader cultural pattern that produced the jury’s reported lean toward acquittal. “You don’t get license to murder your children or anybody else just because you have mental health problems,” Gill said. “But I think, more fundamentally, we have gotten in a habit of medicalizing evil.”

That phrase — medicalizing evil — cuts right to the heart of what happened in that Plymouth County courtroom. The defense asked twelve jurors to look at three dead children and conclude that the person charged with their murders deserves to walk free because a psychiatric label removes moral and legal responsibility. Eleven of them were reportedly ready to say yes.

Piker’s comments fit neatly into that same pattern. Framing the prosecution’s case as an assumption of “cruelty” is a way of making it emotionally uncomfortable to demand accountability. The implication is that caring about justice for Cora, Dawson, and Callan somehow requires believing their mother acted from pure malice rather than illness. That is a false choice, and it is exactly the kind of reasoning that produced a hung jury and left serious murder charges hanging in the air.

The postpartum psychosis claim is a contested legal argument advanced by the defense — not established fact, not settled science, and certainly not a conclusion that eleven jurors reaching for an acquittal somehow transforms into moral truth. Prosecutors presented evidence that Clancy planned the killings and understood they were wrong. That evidence deserved a verdict, not a deadlock driven by woke leftist feminism run amok in the jury room.

And the three children at the center of all of this — Cora, age five; Dawson, age three; Callan, eight months old — still have no verdict. No resolution. Nothing that closes the loop on what allegedly happened to them in that Duxbury home in 2023.

Piker can livestream his sympathy all he wants. The charges remain unresolved. Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz needs to bring this case back to trial so the allegations can be fully tested and the three children charged with being murdered can receive justice.
