And Nancy Pelosi praised one Obama deal that socked Americans with a gut punch.
Pelosi Praises Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal
Democrat opposition to President Trump’s decision to go to war with Iran has been rather muted.
The left proved with Black Lives Matter and Antifa that it can organize a color revolution to deploy millions of foot soldiers into the streets to wage insurrection against Trump if leadership chooses.
But no street protests or elected Democrats are staging stunts to oppose the war.
In an interview with CNN, Pelosi tried to walk a fine line about her secret support for the war and the need to attack Trump at all times.
“Our country is at war. We always root for our country under any circumstance. So let’s get this done. Mr. President, you said it would take a few weeks; clearly you did not know what you were talking about,” Pelosi told host Jake Tapper.
Pelosi then praised Obama’s nuclear deal as “virtuoso.”
“The fact that is so sad about this war, it could have been so totally avoided. President Obama was a masterful, virtuoso diplomatic accomplishment when he did the Iran nuclear agreement. They had it stopped. We accomplished all of our goals, then this one comes in and tears that up and now says he’s going to stop the development of nuclear weapons in Iran, which he hasn’t,” Pelosi added.
“So it’s really sad, but our troops are in harm’s way. And this is not a small potatoes thing as that person you had on the screen might refer to it. Small potatoes is not how we describe our men and women in uniform risking their lives. So this Iran war is taking a toll on the nation.,” Pelosi concluded.
Trump Tore Up Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal
In 2018, President Trump ripped up the Iran nuclear deal and imposed the maximum sanctions pressure campaign.
“This was a horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made,” Trump told Americans in explaining why he exited the deal. “It didn’t bring calm, it didn’t bring peace, and it never will.”
Trump explained that “under the decaying and rotten structure of the current agreement,” Iran would acquire a nuclear weapon.
“The Iran deal is defective at its core,” Trump added.
The symbol of the Iran nuclear deal’s failure was Obama sending $1.7 billion in pallets of cash to Iran as part of the deal.
The deal also never foreclosed Iran’s ability to acquire a nuclear weapon.
Had Obama negotiated a real deal to end Iran’s nuclear program, America wouldn’t be at war today.
